i need to get this off my chest.
dear athletes, musicians, wwe wrestlers, and performers of all kinds:
when visiting and putting on a show of any sorts while in the garden state, more specifically, at any of the meadowlands venues, please be cognizant that you are in NEW JERSEY— not NEW YORK!this has bothered me for sometime now, but it has really come to a head ever since the super bowl. the giants were soooooo excited to bring the vince lombardi trophy home— to NEW YORK. sorry guys, but your stadium, both former and present, is in east rutherford, NEW JERSEY.
to worsen the blow, tonight i saw “the rock” (the wrestler, not the prudential center) on a press conference declaring the wwe’s return to met-life/lets-be-honest-it-will-always-be-giants stadium “NEW YORK!!— and new jersey.”
i’ve been present at a number of concerts at the (now) izod center that the performers enthusiastically proclaim “NEW YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORK!” to get the audience pumped. adding insult to injury, the crowd issues a resounding “woo” back to the performer, propagating the cycle of Jersey-neglect.
basically, what i’m saying is I’m from New Jersey and I’m proud about it. I love the Garden State. I’m from New Jersey and I brag about it. I think it’s simply great.
this should be remedied before hadrosaurus foulkii finds the offenders and rips them to shreds (but doesn’t eat them, because they’re herbivorous.)
this is why i love her. 150% agree.
