this weekend, i’m going to atlantic city to celebrate my best friend’s birthday — which means party nails are necessary. i saw this post on pinterest which is supposed to be a quick fix for a grown out manicure. i loved the look, but since i’m always eager to try new colors/designs/styles, my nails never really grow out. (plus, i’m weird about my nails growing over my finger tips — it grosses me out.)
instead, i decided to replicate the look from scratch. i can see how it would be easier to do with a small, grown out portion of the nail bed. i had to paint my nails the night before, allowing the polish to dry completely. the next day, i used french manicure guideline stickers to create a smooth line and i chose nail glue instead of clear polish for the adhesive. in my experience, the loose glitter/clear polish combo peels and cracks way too easily. plus, nail glue dries so much quicker. after about five minutes, i peeled the stickers off, dusted any loose glitter away and sealed it together with an extra shiny top coat.
